pCAL

At Legendary, we obsess over pCal: which is the percent of calories that come from protein. Having a higher pCal% means that a food delivers more of its calories from protein, relative to carbs and fat.

pCal can be easily calculated with the following steps:

1) Locate the total grams of protein in a product
2) Multiply that number by 4 (there are 4 calories in every gram of product)
3) Divide that number by the total number of calories
4) All done!

Using Legendary Protein Pastry as an example:

1) 20g Protein x 4 Calories = 80 Calories
3) 80 Calories from Protein / 180 Total Calories = 44% pCal
